RPFF in Pembroke, ON and Victoria, BC on Wednesday March 10

With all this warm weather recently in the Ottawa Valley everyone has been itching to get out on the water but has been set back the ice still.  So with the paddling spirit in mind why not head to Algonquin College on Wednesday to check out the film festival and get even more excited for the paddling season.  You can get tickets at the college or by calling 613-735-4700  ext. 2702

On the other side of the country in Victoria, BC Ocean River Sports will be hosting the film festival on Wednesday and Thursday.  For more info on tickets there check out their website.
 
RPFF in Sudbury and Lafayette This weekend

Check out The Reel Paddling Film Festival on Friday in Sudbury, ON hosted by Ramakko's and Laurentian University's Outdoor Education Program.  It will be showing in the Fraser Auditorium on Campus, show time: 7:00 pm (Doors open at 6:00 pm). 
The film festival will also be playing on Saturaday at Pack and Paddle in Lafayette, LA.  You can find more info on the Pack and Paddle website.
 

Facing East Producer's Acceptance Speech on Winning Environmental Category

The producer of Facing East, Matt Hobbs, (Best Enivronmental Film this year) sent us his acceptance speech.

 "I would like to thank everyone at the Reel Paddling Festival! It took well over three years of hard independent work to make this possible.  With out the ineradicable venue of the "Reel Paddiling Festival" my film still might have remained unnoticed in the kayak community. But it has  given me a opportunity to outlet my film to the right market and people."

RPFF To Kick Off This Thursday in Toronto

The Reel Paddling Film Festival premieres this Thursday February 11, 2010 at Bloor Cinema, 506 Bloor Street West, Toronto. Rapid Media publisher and RPFF producer Scott MacGregor will be there to announce this year's winning films. The show starts at 7:00 pm and doors open at 6:30 pm. RPFF Showing in Canada's Capital

The RPFF is coming to Canada's Capital on April 8 at the Glebe College, 212 Glebe Ave. The event will be co hosted by Y Canoe Camping Club (YCCC.ca), Cairine Wilson S.S. and Glebe Collegiate Outdoor Ed Programs.  You can get your tickets at Trailhead on Scott Street; other locations will be listed soon.

After hosting the RPFF in Winnipeg to a sold out crowd last year, Wilderness Supply has moved the event to a larger venue at the Gas Station Theater.
