Steve Stebbins of Port Townsend, WA is the 2009 Yakima Take-It-Easy Contest winner. Steve's name was drawn at the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium before a sold out screening of the RPFF hosted by producer Scott MacGregor.
"I'm looking forward to the Yakima rack system," says Stebbins. "I drive a cherried out 85 Westfalia Vanagon VW we call Captain Morgan." The price for the Yakima Take-It-Easy Contest is a Yakima base rack system and a Skybox 16. The Take-It-Easy Contest was run in conjuction with the Yakima People's Choice Award.
As a proud sponsor of the Reel Paddling Film Fesival, YAKIMA recognizes the significance of audience participation and has created the YAKIMA People’s Choice Award. Following eight months of touring more than 30 films to 16,000 outdoor enthusiasts in 75 cities, the YAKIMA People’s Choice Award will be presented to the highest-rated film as voted by the RPFF World Tour audience. The winning director of this prestigious award will receive $500.
Audiences have the chance to rank all eligible films after each screening. Ballots can be found in the RPFF evening programs. Completed ballots will be deposited in the box provided to all World Tour hosts.
